MEMBERSHIPS & FEES

Instead of our Welcome to Gliding Experiences and EGC Training Courses, you can simply join us straight away and pay for your flying at club rates as you go along. This is especially suitable for those who already have some gliding experience.

Below are the membership options if you choose to do this.

MEMBERSHIP AND FACILITATION FEES

In order to fly with Edgehill Gliding Centre at Shenington Airfield, you must pay a membership fee to Edgehill Gliding Centre Ltd.

Members, except for under 18s and Temporary Members, must also pay a 'Facilitation Fee' for use of Shenington Airfield and all of its facilities to the Landlord.

All fees are per annum, unless individually stated.

Fees will be charged pro rata, should you join part way through a membership year.

FULL MEMBERSHIP & FACILITATION

For glider pilots whose primary club is EGC.

Includes voting rights, unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction.

Note: Full membership for the life of a member may be offered free-of-charge for services rendered. This is available only at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

£279 Facilitation Fee to Shenington Airfield Ltd (or £23.35 pcm)

FAMILY MEMBERSHIP & FACILITATION

For two members of the same immediate family and those in a long term relationship whose primary club is EGC.

Includes voting rights, unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction.

£417 Facilitation Fee to Shenington Airfield Ltd (or £34.75 pcm)

COUNTRY MEMBERSHIP & FACILITATION

£285

For those who hold full membership, or equivalent, of another BGA affiliated club which is their primary club. Includes voting rights, unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction.

Where an individual lives more than 150 miles from the club and is not a member of another BGA club, country membership may be offered at the discretion of the Board, provided the member pays the BGA levy in addition to the country membership fee.

JUNIOR MEMBERSHIP

£223 (21-25 and in Full Time Education)

For Junior pilots. Includes unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction. No Facilitation Fee required.

Includes voting rights if aged 16 or over.

SOCIAL MEMBERSHIP

Only available for non-pilots.

Includes voting rights. Allows use of all club facilities and up to five launches and instruction at club rates per calendar year.

AFFORDABLE GLIDING MEMBERSHIP

Cost on individual basis

If you would like to fly, but money is an obstacle, you can still learn to fly with EGC.

The club has an affordable gliding scheme, which gives you annual membership and flying at a reduced cost.

Includes voting rights, unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction.

VISITING PILOT TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

£13 per day
£77 for nine days

Temporary membership for visiting pilots from other BGA affiliated clubs. Includes unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction. Does not include voting rights.

No Facilitation Fee required.

TRIAL LESSON/ AIR EXPERIENCE/ COURSE TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

Cost included in trial lesson/ air experience/ course fee.

Temporary membership for individuals participating in trial lessons, air experiences or courses. Includes unlimited permission to fly club aircraft and receive instruction.

Includes one month's membership from the date of first flight. Does not include voting rights.

No Facilitation Fee required.

FRIENDS & FAMILY TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

£11 per day

Membership for friends and family of club members, who are then allowed to fly at club rates. Includes unlimited permission to fly in club aircraft and receive instruction. Does not include voting rights.

No Facilitation Fee required.
